One of the great parts of living in Cuenca is that there is something happening on every corner.  Walk in El Centro and you will find Vendors, Entertainers and music. Walk home and you will run into your favorite cow.

This video was shot on May 1st when the river was fairly high.  At that time we lived in a furnished apartment 20 meters from the river.  Each day I would look for the 6 cows that grazed along the river. I even named one of the cows “Violetta” and could easily recognize her because she had a half moon on her back.

There are some Cuencanos doing their laundry in the river.  I make some comments to the reason they do their laundry in the river.

Cuenca Churches

There are more than 50 Catholic Churches in Cuenca.  The oldest is Todo Santos built in the 16th century. My favorite remains the New Cathedral which was built in the 1870’s.

Street Scenes

I have a hard fast rule. Never leave home in Cuenca without a camera.  My favorite part of the video is the band of horses that suddenly appeared and crossed one of Cuenca’s busiest streets.

I’m not a big fan of Grafitti anywhere.  Fortunately in Cuenca the Municipality encouraged artists to use their talent to decorate the stairs(esclinita) and the fences surronding Parque de la Madre.  I like their art.  You?

This short video was shot primarily on Calle Larga at 11:00 am.  Lots of noise, cars , buses and walkers at that time. My favorite part of the video is the vendor on the river side of Calle Larga selling produce.
